Another industry which uses tobacco as a raw material is the textile industry. An American company is patenting a system to use tobacco stalks to produce fabrics and natural textile dyes. The use, rather than the destruction, of a part of the plant which has been wasted so far, will allow farmers to have a small increase in their revenues and achieve fabrics which will probably be cheaper than the traditional vegetable ones.
